Citrine Informatics, the leading chemicals and materials artificial intelligence (AI) platform, announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) Vail as Director of Security. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services, software, and cybersecurity industries, Mr. Vail brings strong technical leadership and operational expertise to the company. As Director of Security, he is responsible for all aspects of Citrine Informatics’ information and corporate security. Additionally, he represents Citrine in key forums focused on Cybersecurity, Information Risk Management, Compliance and Privacy.
Prior to joining Citrine Informatics, Mr. Vail was Director of Information Security at National Mortgage Insurance, where he gathered a team of experts and implemented solutions to detect and mitigate cyberattacks. Prior to that, he held information technology and information security technical leadership positions in agile software development, banking, and wealth management with Pivotal Software, Fremont Bank, and Fisher Investments.
Vail has advised information security startups from early stage to acquisition in CASB, Advanced Anti-Malware, Deception Technologies, Container Security, and Wireless Security. He has provided guidance to Gartner and Forrester researchers on new cyber security techniques and solutions. Vail has held CISSP certification since 2015.
